Reapers Win Squeaker, 6-5, Over Giants
|
The Carolina Reapers bumped off the Detroit Giants, 6-5, at Reedy River Stadium. Todd Korn hit 1 single and 1 double. He also had 1 RBI. The winner was Carolina reliever Roy Walk, now 4-0. The loser was Tony Wooten. The loss makes Detroit 26-18.
Bay Shore, New York-born Franklin Reyes came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Reapers trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Carolina on top.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Reyes told the Carolina Daily News.
