The Sacramento HS Redbirds trumped the San Jose HS Pipeliners, 11-2, at Redbirds Ballpark. Sacramento HS left fielder D.J. Van Diest was terrific. He went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Sacramento HS has now won 3 in a row.

With Sacramento HS leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Van Diest hit a curveball from Nick McGettigan for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Redbirds ahead, 3-0.

"If it's down the middle," said Van Diest, "you might as well hit it."
