McLean Good, But Not Good Enough, in 9-6 Loss
Taylor McLean did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Boston Whistlers from being beaten, 9-6, to the Austin Desperados at Dell Diamond. McLean went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Daniel Mitchell was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Joe McLaughlin collected save number 4.

Making an impact for Austin was third baseman Jesse Griffin. Massacre drilled a run-scoring triple off Jay Helm in the bottom of the second. For the game, Griffin was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.
