Indianapolis Grabs 7-1 Road Win
|
The Indianapolis Eagles locked up a win at San Francisco Grounds, knocking off the San Francisco Fire, 7-1. On the mound for Indianapolis was right-hander Aaron Daniels. He played a major role in the triumph. Daniels, now 2-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Eagles now own a record of 22-21.
Danny Aleman had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth for Indianapolis. With the bases loaded and the Eagles leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said San Francisco manager George Barcellos.
