The 2022 season is off to a good start for the Hollywood Stars. The hometown Stars knocked off the Mexico City Roadrunners, 6-5, at Hollywood Grounds. Hollywood shortstop Steve Parson paced his team to the win. Hollywood pitcher Wade Vesperman got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chase Lovett got the loss.

Had Carlos Miranda not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Miranda hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Stars.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Miranda.
