Fans of the Hollywood Stars who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Hollywood win over the visiting Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 4-2. Jason Hollenbeck started for the home team against Antonio Sanchez. Antonio Sanchez earned accolades for his performance. Rob Morgan notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Tony Morales locked down his 1st save.
Had Francisco Fierro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Fierro hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Stars.
Said losing manager Edwin Gomez: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
