The Hollywood Stars put one in the win column with an opening day 3-2 triumph over the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles. The crowd at Hollywood Grounds watched Andy Waring put on a fine performance. Hollywood reliever Omar Navarrete picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Josh Gatto absorbed the loss. Chong-hyeon Hyong earned the save, his 1st.
Eric Daniel, who finished 2nd in the NC in on-base percentage with .410 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Hollywood in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Hollywood manager Sean Simmers called it "a good, solid win."
