Had Keith Brosch not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Brosch hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Giants.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Detroit manager Sean O'Leary. "It's usually not just one thing."
