Captains Lose Again, 4-2, to Gladiators
|
Phoenix turned a good effort from starter Bob Rehm into a win over the Tampa Bay Captains at Ahoy Park. The Gladiators won the game, 4-2. Max Mascareno finished the game for Phoenix and earned his 1st save. Phoenix now sits at 28-14, while Tampa Bay falls to 15-27.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the seventh. That's when Gladiators shortstop John Platzer hit a slider from Quincy Donaldson for a 2-run single. Just like that, Phoenix was up, 3-2.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Tampa Bay skipper Jalen Armour.
