Heathens Victors, 3-2, at Boston
|
The timely hitting of Chris Beasley helped the Halifax Heathens down the Boston Whistlers, 3-2. Beasley went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Heathens. Halifax pitcher Chris Booth got the win. He's now 2-0. Antonio Higuera was tagged with the loss. The Heathens, at 30-12, sit in first place in the American Conference South Division.
Beasley got the Heathens off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single.
"We busted our tails," said Boston manager Ben Foster. "But we came up short."
