Toronto Trash Pandas starter Gerardo Cruz pitched his team past the Cincinnati Royals, 4-2. Toronto is now 61-67, Cincinnati 72-56.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Paul McComas to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Toronto manager Matt Armijo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
