Stars Come Up Short at Syracuse, 8-7
The Syracuse Scorpions beat the Hollywood Stars, 8-7, in part because of second baseman John Harris. He went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jonathan Marich, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Omar Trujillo notched his 36th save in 38 chances.

Bobby Tapia went 2-4 with 2 singles for Syracuse. The five-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off David Young. It was his 39th RBI of the season.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Harris.

The win gives Syracuse a season record of 71-56.
