The Toronto Trash Pandas went home winners at Trash Panda Field, thanks in large part to starter Josh Monroe. Monroe stifled the San Diego Fleet, enabling Toronto to grab the 5-0 win. Monroe yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 12-5. With the win, Toronto upped its record to 72-55.

In the bottom of the first inning, right fielder Sam Salas had a run-scoring double for Toronto. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Trash Pandas on top, 1-0.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Toronto skipper Walt DeRosier.
