Royals Score Late, Upend Mounties, 7-3
|
The Cincinnati Royals defeated the Vancouver Mounties by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Danny Bryson. Bryson was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Royals on the day. Roberto Salazar sewed up the save, his 21st. Cincinnati, at 60-67, sits in last place in the National Conference North East Division.
Jay Bloms's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Royals. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Cincinnati trailing 3-1, the Royals second baseman hit a 2-run single.
Bryson said his team "played with determination."
