The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles faced a tough opponent in Detroit pitcher Steve McCutcheon, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Detroit by a final score of 6-5. McCutcheon went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Daytona Beach pitcher Jon Haynes got the win. He's now 2-4. Phil White was tagged with the loss. Steven Hyatt closed the door for Daytona Beach, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Daytona Beach used a well-timed hit by Allen McColl to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Sea Turtles ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," McColl told the Daytona Beach News.
