Reapers Snatch Late Win
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Reapers grabbed a win, 7-5, at Nightmare Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Dustin Lewis. Lewis went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Justin Berry earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 3-0. Getting the save was Roy Walk, his 3rd.

Bobby Phillips produced at a critical juncture for Carolina. It happened in the top of the eighth with Tony Rosario on the mound and Carolina leading 6-5. That's when the former first round draft pick Phillips hit a sacrifice fly.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Phillips, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The second-place Reapers bumped their record to 21-20.
