Royals Get Clutch Win Versus Hollywood
Hollywood got a decent performance from pitcher Scott Johnson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cincinnati Royals. Cincinnati won the Hollywood Grounds contest, 5-4. Johnson threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Wayne Harless. The third-place Royals now have a win-loss record of 67-59.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the third. That's when Royals left fielder Eric Hayes hit a fastball from Scott Johnson for a 2-run single. Just like that, Cincinnati was up, 2-1.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Hayes.
