The New York Nightmare got a good effort from starter Mario Ruiz in defeating the Chicago Gangsters at Nightmare Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Jeff Groves earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game. Chicago now is 1-4.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Nightmare third baseman Nick Seago hit a cutter from Sam Palacios for a 2-run single. Just like that, New York was up, 3-2.
Said New York manager Tyrone Hairston: "We squared some balls up."
