Gladiators Pocket 6-1 Win Against Chicago
The Phoenix Gladiators got a good effort from starter Rob Alvarez in defeating the Chicago Gangsters at The Hideout. The final score was 6-1. Phoenix, now 61-65, holds down third place in the American Conference South Division.

Phoenix used a big swing from Austin Bonneau to get the win. The left fielder walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Gladiators up, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Alvarez. "Successful pitchers do it."
