The Cincinnati Royals beat the Vancouver Mounties by a score of 6-5. Cincinnati first baseman Aaron Jalbert deserved the lion's share of the credit. Jalbert was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Royals. The second-place Royals sport a record of 74-52.

Cincinnati took a 6-5 lead on Mike Rankin's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Rankin hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Vancouver pitcher Lorenzo Villarreal visibly frustrated.

"We found a way to get it done," Rankin said.
