Vancouver Dismisses Cincinnati, 9-7
|
The Vancouver Mounties powered past the Cincinnati Royals, 9-7, at The Castle. Brian Myers provided some of the pop. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. The save was Chris Brown's, his 27th. Vancouver has a record of 65-61, placing them third in the National Conference West Division.
Jason Coppa, who is rated as the 32nd best prospect by BNN, drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Vancouver. In a tie game with no one out in the top of the seventh, Coppa came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Mounties in front, 7-6.
Vancouver manager Brian Burnett was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
