Williams Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Invaders Win, 8-5
|
Cameron Williams was a major contributor to the 8-5 Oakland win over New York. The Invaders first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Evan Pullman got the win, improving to 12-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Idhma Kodandarami, credited with the save, is now 8 for 10 in save opportunities.
Oakland used the hitting of Jonathan Amorin to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Invaders on top, 3-1. For the game, Amorin had 2 home runs and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We maximized our offense today," said Oakland skipper Steve Pate. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The victory gives Oakland a record of 70-55.
