Post Excels, But Heathens Win
The inspired effort of Tampa Bay third baseman Steve Post was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-8, to the Halifax Heathens. Post went 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Halifax pitcher Andy Swift got the win. He's now 9-2. Jeremy Schroeter was tagged with the loss. Tampa Bay now owns a losing streak of 7 games.

Halifax shortstop Seth Hardwick contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 100th hit of the season and put the Heathens ahead, 8-5.

"Both teams had plenty of clutch hits," said Hardwick. "It made for an exciting game."
