The Detroit Giants knocked off the Sandusky Seagulls, 6-4, at Ballpark of Detroit. Jonathan Ashley was a big reason Detroit won. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tony Gutierrez got credit for the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Giants lead the American Conference North East Division by 3½ games.

Adrian Whittlesey was the walk-off hero for Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Giants pinch hitter hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
