23ers Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Brian Gay propelled his team to victory over the Oakland Invaders. The final score was 3-2, Fountain Hills. Stuart Taylor, now 6-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Tom Mott closed the door for Fountain Hills, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Fountain Hills used the timely hitting of Brian Massey to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the 23ers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Brian did a good job keeping the game under control," said Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman.
Fountain Hills is now 59-66, Oakland 61-64.
