The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles picked up a win at Nightmare Stadium, topping the New York Nightmare, 3-1. On the mound for Daytona Beach was right-hander Mark Dudley. He played a principal role in the triumph. Dudley yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 10. His record improves to 7-9. With the win over New York, the Sea Turtles improved to 55-69.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jake Baker? The 27-year old first baseman Baker stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Daytona Beach up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Mark was in control from the top," said Daytona Beach manager Ken Bennett.
