The 6-4 Charleston win over Philadelphia was due largely to Ryan Forsythe. The Sea Dogs third baseman went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mario Barillas earned the save for Charleston, his 9th of the year. The National Conference South Division-leading Sea Dogs have a record of 82-42.

Charleston needed the clutch hitting of Juan Ortiz to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 5-3. For the game, Ortiz had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Forsythe told the Charleston Bulletin.
