The Philadelphia Marauders beat the Cleveland Wild Things, 6-1. Philadelphia pitcher and Flint, Michigan, native Matthew Thomas led the way. The Wild Things, at 50-74, have lost 8 in a row.

Philadelphia shortstop Johnny McCargar contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 147th hit of the season and put the Marauders ahead, 1-0.
