Torres goes 4-for-4 to Power Fleet Offense
|
Getting offensive support from Mark Torres, the San Diego Fleet topped the Toronto Trash Pandas, 4-3. Torres was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Fleet. Brad Antol converted his 8th save in 11 tries. The loss makes Toronto 66-58.
Dale Day drove in one run for San Diego. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Day, who finished 4th in the NC in home runs with 32 last year, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Toronto hurler Josh Flaten, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Fleet a 4-3 lead.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Torres.
