7-5 Loss Extends Fountain Hills Skid
Reedy River Stadium was the site for National Conference action featuring the Fountain Hills 23ers and Carolina Reapers.

Corey Pope did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Fountain Hills 23ers from being beaten, 7-5, to the Carolina Reapers at Reedy River Stadium. Pope was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Brian Finkel picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Joe Woolverton suffered the loss.

Carolina took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bobby Phillips hit a 2-run single to make it 7-5, Reapers.

Afterward, Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman said: "We've hit a rough patch."

The Reapers raised their record to 51-72.
