Charleston Wins, 4-3, Over Marauders
|
The Charleston Sea Dogs picked up a win at Marauders Ballpark, dropping the Philadelphia Marauders, 4-3. Sean Stevens, who is tied for 8th in the NC with a 3.33 ERA, was the difference-maker. Ken Allbaugh picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-6. Justin Erim was tagged with the loss. Jon Reynolds earned the save for Charleston, his 1st of the year.
Charleston used the timely hitting of Charlie Paquin to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We ground out the win," said Stevens. "That's all that matters."
The Sea Dogs, at 73-50, have now won 4 straight.
