The San Diego Fleet rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher B.J. Gonzalez to a win, beating the Cincinnati Royals, 3-1, at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. The save went to Lorenzo Landin, number 18 for him. The setback makes Cincinnati 65-58.

The Fleet got a big at-bat from first baseman Carlos Miranda. For the game, Miranda went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave San Diego a 2-0 lead.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Miranda.
