Mounties Pop Trash Pandas, 9-2
|
A good performance from designated hitter Javier Brito helped the Vancouver Mounties defeat the Toronto Trash Pandas, 9-2. Brito went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Mounties. Vancouver reliever Lorenzo Villarreal, who is a two-time All-Star, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-3. Jim Murphy took the loss for Toronto. The Mounties now own a record of 48-75.
Richard Ulmer had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Mounties. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Vancouver trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"Enjoyed this one," Ulmer told the Vancouver Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
