Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Hideout.

The timely hitting of Matt Blevins helped the Austin Desperados take down the Chicago Gangsters, 8-4, in 10 innings. Blevins was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Desperados. Austin reliever Joe McLaughlin snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Keith Kramer shouldered the loss.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Blevins delivered big-time for Austin, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Keith Kramer. The game-changing hit put the Desperados on top, 6-4.

"Matt has some easy pop," said Austin manager . "He's dangerous."

Austin sits in last place in the American Conference South Division at 56-66.
