Pines Earn Win with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring game between the Maine Pines and the Hollywood Stars, pitcher Justin Jemison was the difference-maker. The Maine right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Pines win. Maine raised its record to 86-36 with the win.
Maine used a timely hit from Jaime Sherlock to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pines ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Maine skipper David Whigham. "I can't complain."
