Indianapolis beat Hollywood at Eagles Stadium, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Mike Pierskalla. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Indianapolis, now 63-59, holds down third place in the National Conference North East Division.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Pierskalla hit a fastball from Gary Barone for a solo home run. The Eagles, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay praised his team's "energy."
