Monia Pops Two Homers in 4-2 Win for Hollywood
|
Mike Monia knocked in all 4 runs for the Hollywood Stars, helping them beat the Indianapolis Eagles, 4-2. Adam Arent, the winner, is now 6-3. He struck out 9 and walked 4 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Victor Trevino earned the save for Hollywood, his 3rd.
Monia contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Hollywood in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Monia took a fastball from Aaron Daniels and stroked the home run to right-center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Stars to leap in front, 3-1.
Monia called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
With the win, Hollywood goes to 49-73, while the Eagles fall to 71-51.
