Marauders Get Past Charleston for 5-4 Win
The Philadelphia Marauders had to overcome a fine effort from Charleston pitcher Jim Savoie to win, 5-4, at Marauders Ballpark. Savoie went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Justin Erim earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. Vince Mellon closed it out for Philadelphia, earning his 28th save.

Had Eric Langley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Langley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Marauders.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Langley.

Philadelphia raised its record to 70-52 with the win.
