Ortiz, Invaders Too Much for Brawlers
The Oakland Invaders powered past the Cleveland Brawlers, 8-3, at The Backyard. Juan Ortiz provided some of the pop. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Oakland reliever Luis Najera, now 2-1. The loser was Chi-yong Har. The Invaders go to 23-18, putting them second in the National Conference South Division.

In the top of the eighth, Steve McKinstry, who finished 4th in the AC in runs with 99 in 2019, delivered for Oakland. That's when he belted a 2-run home run, putting the Invaders up, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Ortiz.
