Crown Need Extra Frames to Get Past Giants
Carolina third baseman Jose Lazaro contributed significantly to his team's 5-4 win over the Detroit Giants. Lazaro went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Crown. With the victory, the Crown record stands at 52-69.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Lazaro hit a fastball from Tony Gutierrez for a solo home run. The Crown, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
