Starting Pitcher Andy Weatherholt was lights out, as the Charleston Sea Dogs beat the New York Nightmare, 2-1. Charleston reliever Mario Barillas picked up the win to move to 4-4. Allan Clemente suffered the loss. The first-place Sea Dogs, at 80-41, lead the National Conference South Division by 22 games.

Chris Franklin was the walk-off hero for Charleston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sea Dogs shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Weatherholt.
