The Indianapolis Eagles trumped the San Francisco Fire, 7-3, at Eagles Stadium. Indianapolis designated hitter Ricky Plascencia was terrific. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winner was Paul Mitchell, who threw 94 pitches over 6.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. With the victory, the Eagles upped their record to 71-50.

The Eagles got a big at-bat from shortstop Alex Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Indianapolis a 4-2 lead.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Sanchez. "It sure beats the alternative."
