Cincinnati pitcher Andy Dooley did his part in helping his team beat the Mexico City Aztecs, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Wayne Harless converted his 31st save in 35 tries. The Royals are now 64-56, while the Aztecs fall to 67-53.

Aaron Jalbert, who finished 3rd in the NC in doubles with 35 in 2021, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"Our offense was purring," said Cincinnati manager Justin Aaron. "Like a well-oiled machine."
