Despite a fine performance by shortstop Johnny McCargar, the Philadelphia Marauders lost to the Carolina Reapers, 6-3, in 10 innings. McCargar went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Carolina reliever Jake Schmitt was the winner. His record is now 2-7. Vince Mellon took the loss. The third-place Reapers improved to 55-65.

The decisive blow was delivered by Mike Fearing in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 3-run home run off fireballing 6' 10" left-hander Vince Mellon to win the game for Carolina. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place was rocking at the end," Fearing said.
