It was pandemonium at Dell Diamond after an exciting walk-off win.
The Austin Desperados faced a tough opponent in Syracuse pitcher John Froerer, but still scratched out a win at Dell Diamond by a final score of 4-3 in 12 innings. Froerer went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win was credited to Bob Baucke in relief. His record improves to 5-9. Mike Kelley took the loss.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, slugging left fielder Matt Blevins had a chance to be the hero. Syracuse pitcher Mike Kelley wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Blevins hit a sacrifice fly. The Desperados had themselves a thrilling win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Blevins told reporters after the game.
The third-place Scorpions have dropped 6 straight games.
