San Francisco Slaps 3-1 Loss on Toronto
|
In a low-scoring game between the San Francisco Fire and the Toronto Trash Pandas, pitcher Pat Daughtry was the difference-maker. The San Francisco right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Fire win. The winner in relief was Joe Woolverton. He is now 3-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Jesus Henriguez locked down his 29th save.
Had Jonathan Kober not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Kober hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Fire.
"Tough loss," said Toronto manager Walt DeRosier. "But we'll rebound from it."
San Francisco currently is in last place in the National Conference West Division at 52-68.
