The Indianapolis Eagles had their hands full with San Diego Fleet starter Ray Rorie, who frustrated Indianapolis hitters while leading San Diego to a comfortable, 8-1 win. Rorie, the winner, moves to 10-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. The winning continues for San Diego, with the latest triumph making it 9 straight.
Carlos Miranda, who is tied for 5th in the NC in runs scored with 80, helped out the San Diego cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with a double and a walk.
