2025 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Chicago Gangsters.

The Halifax Heathens defeated the Chicago Gangsters, 12-3. Second Baseman Chance Smith deserved a large share of the credit. Smith slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 5 for the Heathens. The American Conference South Division-leading Heathens are 65-54.

With Halifax leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Smith came up to bat against Chicago pitcher Jason Strobel. Smith hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Heathens on top, 4-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Smith.
