The Indianapolis Eagles took San Francisco pitcher Taylor Motyl's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Eagles Stadium. The final score had Indianapolis getting past the Fire, 3-2. Motyl went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. Indianapolis raised its record to 61-58 with the win.

Mike Pierskalla had a big 2-run double for the Eagles in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Indianapolis leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Taylor Motyl and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eagles ahead, 3-0.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Pierskalla said.
