Stars Drop Trash Pandas, 7-6
|
The Hollywood Stars weathered a fine game by Toronto right fielder Chris Marra to upend the Trash Pandas, 7-6, at Trash Panda Field. Marra was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Victor Trevino picked up the win, improving his season record to 15-7. He struck out 2 in 6 innings. Logan Stone closed it out for Hollywood, earning his 11th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tim Schellin? The Hollywood designated hitter had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Stars on top, 6-5. For the game, Schellin had 1 double and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Schellin told the Hollywood Gazette.
Hollywood, now 53-65, holds down last place in the National Conference West Division.
