Fire Win at Cincinnati, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Miguel Berrios did his part in helping the San Francisco Fire thwart the Cincinnati Royals, 5-1. Berrios picked up the win for San Francisco, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-9. By defeating Cincinnati, the last-place Fire improved to 51-67.
San Francisco used the hitting of Jonathan Raley to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Fire on top, 5-0. For the game, Raley had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Miguel kept his poise and got the job done," said San Francisco manager Chris Ware. "He was outstanding."
