Captains Lose to Shiners in Walk-Off
The Charleston Shiners used a top-flight performance from Josh Reed, who finished 2nd in the NC in wins with 18 in 2020, to beat the Tampa Bay Captains, 2-0, in 11 innings. Travis Erb picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Ray Rorie suffered the loss. The Shiners raised their record to 23-17.

Charleston got a game-changing hit from Tim Hutchison. The designated hitter blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

Hutchison told a Charleston News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
