Dave Shevlin, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2011 draft, was locked in. The right-hander led the Detroit Giants to a 7-4 win against the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles at Leatherback Park. Shevlin got the win, improving to 11-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Detroit used the hitting of Angelo Mejia to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants on top, 7-4. For the game, Mejia had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
