In a low-scoring game between the Tampa Bay Captains and the Phoenix Gladiators, pitcher Dennis Cambridge was masterful on the mound. The Tampa Bay left-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. Jason Washington was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 29 of 29 save opportunities. The third-place Gladiators now sit at 56-61.

Tampa Bay took a 2-1 lead on Ricky Martinez's 13th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Martinez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Phoenix pitcher Ricardo Grados visibly frustrated.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Cambridge.
