The umbrellas came out during the Detroit-Daytona Beach contest at Ballpark of Detroit.

Mike Wroten, who is tied for 10th in the AC in wins with 8, propelled his team to victory over the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles. The final score was 6-4, Detroit. Wroten picked up the win for Detroit, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 8-11. Lee Maher was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 22 save opportunities.

Detroit left fielder Keith Brosch helped the Giants go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Brosch hit a run-scoring single off Daytona Beach pitcher Alan Champagne.
