Scorpions Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Desperados
|
The Syracuse Scorpions topped the Austin Desperados, 4-3, in American Conference action at Scorpion Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Syracuse pitcher Chris Dries. The third-place Scorpions hiked their record to 49-67.
Nate Volk was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Scorpions second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Dries.
