Ryan Flamino, who is on pace for 223 strikeouts this season, was terrific for the Maine Pines in his team's 4-1 triumph over the San Diego Fleet. His performance earned Flamino rave reviews. The Pines are now 74-42, while the Fleet fall to 69-47.

Maine used the timely hitting of Paul McComas to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pines ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," McComas told the Maine Citizen.
