Dallas Squanders Big Game by Rodriguez
|
The first-place Boston Whistlers took on the Dallas Dragons in front of a spirited crowd.
The Boston Whistlers weathered an outstanding game by Dallas left fielder Carlos Rodriguez to topple the Dragons, 9-6. Rodriguez was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Josh Becker, now 5-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Blake Bryant earned save number 29 this season.
Brian Roseman, who is on pace to hit 56 home runs this season, chipped in a run-scoring single for Boston in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Roseman.
Boston is now 68-48.
