Sea Dogs Use Late Score to Top Heathens, 5-4
The Charleston Sea Dogs wiggled past the Halifax Heathens, 5-4, in 12 innings at Ballpark of Charleston. The win was highlighted by the performance of Charleston pitcher Jim Savoie. The win was credited to six-time All-Star Bob Baucke in relief. His record improves to 3-7. Steve McManus took the loss. Charleston has now reeled off 7 straight wins.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, 25-year old catcher William Corrado had a real shot to win the game. Halifax pitcher Steve McManus was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Corrado hit a run-scoring single. The Sea Dogs had a walk-off triumph.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Charleston field general Sang-ton Che.
