Starting pitcher James Dobyns gave the San Francisco Fire a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Chicago Gangsters, 3-2, at The Hideout. Jesus Henriguez, who is tied for 2nd in the NC in saves with 27, nailed down the save. Today's win puts San Francisco at 49-66, while Chicago falls to 42-73.

Jeff Mullinax came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Chicago manager Antonio Valdez.
