In a close game at Leatherback Park, the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles edged the Dallas Dragons, 5-4. Daytona Beach second baseman Marcos Santiago stood apart with his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Daytona Beach reliever Kory Tourville snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mike Braasch shouldered the loss. Daytona Beach is 50-64 and Dallas, with the loss, 63-51.

Mark Root was the walk-off hero for Daytona Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sea Turtles center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"That game was intense," Root said.
